Welcome Pack 373 Parents

Scouting has been around since 1910 and since its inception, its purpose has been to influence the character, spiritual and physical growth of young boys and in 2017 welcomed girls to join Cub Scouts.  While Cub Scouting goes a long way towards encouraging the habits and attitudes of a good citizen, we cannot do it without the help of our parents.  Cub Scouting is a FAMILY AFFAIR, and all members of your family are welcomed and strongly encouraged to attend all Pack events with your Cub Scout. Our Scout leaders are all parent volunteers and we are always looking for parents willing to volunteer and take leadership roles.

Thank you for your interest in joining our Cub Scout Pack.  It is our hope that you and your son or daughter will find the Pack a rewarding and fun experience.  Pack 373 was founded in 2001 under the charter of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, GA 30290.

One of the qualities we try to instill in our Scouts is a sense of personal responsibility. One way we do this is by giving each Scout a chance to “pay his own way.” Participation in fundraising activities has enabled several Scouts in past years to not only cover the costs of their advancements and regular activities, but to also pay for special outings.  In years past, our Scouts have been to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL and the USS Yorktown in Charleston, S C. Needless to say, these were terrific experiences that our Scouts will not soon forget!  We are planning another special trip this year that will give our Scouts a goal for which to strive. More details regarding fundraising opportunities will follow.

The goal of Pack 373 is to help each Scout grow their mind, body and spirit while experiencing many different fun and exciting events.  In addition to the monthly Pack Meetings, which are usually held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, your Scout will also attend Den Meetings filled with interesting and fun events that help them achieve the requirements for their rank.

The bottom line is Scouting is what you make of it! The only limits to learning and fun are what we, the parents, put into it. The Leadership, the parents, and the proud Scouts of Pack 373 are excited about the new year and excited that your family will now be a big part of the fun!
Welcome! We look forward to an exciting new year of Cub Scouting!
